The Total version of ZMax includes a compact, USB infrared camera with a high brightness infrared light source.
Formerly, this camera was only used for remote video polysomnography (youtube video).
The newest version of our software stack leverages this existing infrared video capability to deliver a video based, non contact respiration sensing solution that allows collection of high quality breathing data.
Respiration data can be acquired with only the ZMax EEG headband on (without wearing the additional SpO2/nasal airflow sensor) - or, you can capture both video and airflow respiration concurrently. The video respiration signal responds to movements of the subject (chiefly, their torso), whereas the SpO2/airflow sensor (also included in the Total kit) captures the movement of air in and out of the nostrils.

SAMPLE DATA FILES
- Side by side: 2 hours of Airflow + Video respiration data - Open with HDScorer. Click on the "Airflow" and "VideoResp" buttons on the left vertical menu after opening the files to display the respiration tracks. Use the mousewheel over the two channels to zoom the vertical axis. You will need the latest release of our software (get it from downloads).

- Only video respiration data: 10 hours of video respiration data including every possible 'interference'. Subject not present,
late sleep onset, constant position changes - Single EDF file, cannot open in HDScorer. Please use Sigview or similar.
